Council on the Role and Status of Women in Social Work Education

The Council on the Role and Status of Women in Social Work Education (Women's Council) is responsible for the development of educational resources relevant to women's issues in social work education. Activities include an Annual Networking Breakfast and Mentor Recognition Fund as well as the Feminist Scholar, Feminist Manuscript, Community Impact, and Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Manuscript Awards. Nominations for all awards are now open!

New Award for 2020!

The first annual VAWC Award will be presented at the CSWE Annual Program Meeting (APM) in Denver, CO, in November 2020. It will be awareded to the author of the manuscript that most advances feminist knowledge in the field of violence against women and children. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding scholarship of early career scholars. The recipient must be an early career scholar (academic professional or doctoral student within 7 years of completing the MSW or PhD) and be the sole presenter or primary presenter of a proposal submitted to CSWE for an APM presentation. 

Those submitting for a manuscript award must choose between the Feminist Manuscript Award or the VAWC Award. You cannot submit to both.
