Update on Accreditation of Practice Doctoral Programs in Social Work
December 5, 2018

Listen to the recording here.
In March 2016, the CSWE Board of Directors voted for its Commission on Educational Policy and Commission on Accreditation to move forward with developing a process for the accreditation of practice doctoral programs in social work. A practice doctorate committee of both commissions and current practice doctoral (DSW) program directors have been actively working to conceptualize and create an accreditation process and standards that will ensure that practice doctoral programs can differ in their goals, curricula, and competencies of their graduates.  The first draft of  the accreditation standards for DSW programs in social work is now available for public review, comment, and feedback on our website.  In this live webinar, we provide an update on the process and invite your feedback on the draft accreditation standards.

  • Jo Ann Regan, CSWE Vice President of Education
  • Andrew Safyer, Chair, CSWE Commission on Accreditation
  • Debra McPhee, Chair, CSWE Commission on Educational Policy
