The Field Education Institute will focus on anti-racist practice and human rights in field education. Specific breakout sessions will examine interprofessonal field education settings and culturally relevant approaches to field education. These interactive sessions are intended to address ways in which field education responds to the needs of students and how field educators can better advocate for diversity and equity, and support inclusivity in field settings that may have competing priorities and/or divergent goals. The target audience is field education staff including community field instructors.

The Teaching Institute for Faculty will focus on social justice and anti-racist pedagogy. These interactive sessions will explore how faculty members can transform their classrooms and curricula to create learning environments that celebrate today’s diverse student populations and genuinely mirror their backgrounds and experiences. There will be a focus on supporting students as they learn to value and affirm the lives of others. Faculty will be exposed to evidence-based teaching practices that promote empathy and critical thinking. The target audience includes all teaching faculty.
