​​CSWE is pleased to offer multiple professional development opportunities at the 2022 Annual Program Meeting. Attendance at each event requires a separate registration and fee.

Field Education Institute

November 10, 2022
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

The Field Education Institute will focus on anti-racist practice and human rights in field education. Specific breakout sessions will examine interprofessonal field education settings and culturally relevant approaches to field education. These interactive sessions are intended to address ways in which field education responds to the needs of students and how field educators can better advocate for diversity and equity, and support inclusivity in field settings that may have competing priorities and/or divergent goals. The target audience is field education staff including community field instructors.

Teaching Institute for Faculty

The Teaching Institute for Faculty will focus on social justice and anti-racist pedagogy. These interactive sessions will explore how faculty members can transform their classrooms and curricula to create learning environments that celebrate today’s diverse student populations and genuinely mirror their backgrounds and experiences. There will be a focus on supporting students as they learn to value and affirm the lives of others. Faculty will be exposed to evidence-based teaching practices that promote empathy and critical thinking. The target audience includes all teaching faculty.

The Assessment Institute is an interactive session that will address best practices and strategies in the 2022 EPAS areas of assessment of anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the curriculum, administrative and governance structures, and faculty and student recruitment and retention. The target audience includes faculty and academic staff with programmatic assessment responsibilities. Note that the Assessment Institute will not include training on compliance with the 2022 EPAS.
