Heather Donahue, MSW
Director of Grants and Special Projects
Heather Donahue, MSW, is the Director of Grants and Special Projects at the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). She creates and oversees a fund development plan that includes a comprehensive portfolio of federal and foundation awards. Heather identifies funding opportunities that align with social work values and establishes partnerships with diverse stakeholders to cultivate opportunities that advance social work education. She serves as the staff liaison for the CSWE Commission for Diversity and Social and Economic Justice as well as the CSWE Council on Disability and Persons with Disabilities.
Heather has more than 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector including program development, grant administration, and philanthropic roles. Prior to joining CSWE, she oversaw a portfolio of community development, housing, homelessness, and COVID-19 recovery grant funds totaling over $15 million and spearheaded the local strategic planning for preventing and ending homelessness in a major jurisdiction. Heather received an MSW from Columbia University and a BA in Social Work from The Catholic University of America.
