Accreditation Specialist

Lauren Goldberger, MSW, LMSW, is an Accreditation Specialist at the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), where she plays a crucial role in supporting accredited social work programs, those in candidacy, and the broader community. She provides essential education, resources, and consultation, and serves as a liaison to both the Board of Accreditation (BOA) and the Council on Global Learning & Practice (CGLP). Lauren is dedicated to enhancing equitable access to the social work profession and thrives on collaborating with like-minded stakeholders to advance this shared mission.

Before joining CSWE, Lauren accumulated diverse experience in medical social work, international education, and higher education. As a Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Social Worker, she supported patients, families, and survivors of pediatric cancer throughout the life course. Simultaneously, she worked with the Amey Cancer Survivorship Program in Baltimore, MD, developing strategies and resources to address the psychosocial needs of pediatric cancer survivors.

Lauren also co-led educational study abroad programs in India and Nepal through World Learning and the Experiment in International Living's Leadership Institute. Centered on the themes of leadership, community development, and public health, Lauren collaborated with international NGOs and healthcare institutions, conducted workshops, and mentored students in project management and college readiness.

Most recently, Lauren offered regulatory compliance, licensure, and field education support to online degree programs in social work, marriage and family therapy, and professional counseling across the country. She also contributed to the Global Operations DEI Council, using data to drive employee-designed and led diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Lauren earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre and Public Health from Muhlenberg College. Originally from the DC metro area, she now lives in Charleston, SC, with her partner.
