Accreditation Services Manager

Michael E. Leff, JD, MSW, is the Accreditation Services Manager with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). In this role, he provides education, resources, and consultation to prospective and applicant social work programs seeking pre-candidacy status and submitting a substantive change proposal for a new location or delivery method.  Prior to this role, Michael worked as an Accreditation Specialist. Michael believes in developing positive relationships with stakeholders built on trust and mutual respect.

Michael earned his Master of Social Work from The State University of New York at Buffalo and his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University. He previously worked in the field of human services, working with the intellectually disabled population both as a case worker and as a manager of a group home. He transitioned into higher education accreditation work here at CSWE in September of 2020 after several years practicing law full-time in the State of New York.

Michael was born and raised in the Buffalo New York suburbs, where he currently resides, and is an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He is a trained pianist and vocalist and enjoys karaoke.
