Xiaochuan (Sharon) Wang, Ph.D., MSW
Dr. Xiaochuan (Sharon) Wang is an associate professor at the School of Social Work, University of Central Florida. She received her Ph.D. in Social Work from University of Georgia, and her MSW from Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests and expertise center on health and mental health care disparities. Specifically, her research looks at the individual and structural factors associated with health and mental service utilization and other help-seeking behaviors, and related health and mental health outcomes, with a focus on racial/ethnic minorities and older adults. Dr. Wang also conducts nursing home quality research. By investigating facility characteristics, workforce capacity, and quality deficiency, her study aims to examine and enhance quality of services.
