APM Assignment: 2023–2025
Islam continues to be one of the most misunderstood faiths, on one hand eliciting greater interfaith dialogue and, on the other hand, vitriolic anti-Islamic sentiments from some laypeople, leaders of other faiths, and elected officials. This Track provides a forum for social work practitioners and educators to engage in a mutually transforming exchange regarding teaching and the conduct of research about Islam, as well as the delivery of services to Muslims in America and the global community. This Track endeavors to create knowledge and develop theoretical frameworks and innovative models of service delivery aimed at ensuring culturally competent social work practice, research, and education.
