Call for CSWE Board of Directors Student Member Nominations

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Board of Directors (BOD) has openings for two students (one at the BSW level and one at the MSW level). Please consider nominating a student and/or having students self-nominate/apply for this opportunity. Serving on the CSWE board offers an opportunity for students to learn about social work, advance in their careers, and contribute to the profession. Student members will serve on the BOD as nonvoting members with all rights and responsibilities of other nonvoting members of the BOD. The nomination cycle opens on Friday, February 14, 2025, and ends on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11:59 PM (ET).

Student members are expected to attend all board meetings and actively participate in board activities. BOD meetings are scheduled virtually in January, June, and September. In-person board meetings are scheduled in October or November (during CSWE’s Annual Conference) and March (during CSWE’s Spring Governance). CSWE will provide financial support for students’ travel and accommodations to its in-person BOD meetings. Student members will be appointed to serve on the CSWE BOD for a 3-year term effective July 1, 2025–June 30, 2028.
