The Center for Diversity Advisory and Social & Economic Justice Advisory Board are seeking dedicated individuals to join the Advisory Committee. This committee will advise and support the continued success and activities of the Center by collaborating with and supporting CSWE staff and the Center for Diversity and Social & Economic Justice Scholar in content development, dissemination, and presentations. Advisory Board members must be a full- or part-time social work faculty member at a CSWE-accredited or candidate social work program. Center Advisory Board members are appointed to a 2-year term of service.

Overview
The CSWE Center for Diversity and Social & Economic Justice was established to advance the quality of social work education for a professional practice that promotes individual, family, and community well-being and social and economic justice. The Center will pursue this mission by promoting, developing, and sustaining social work leadership, teaching, research, curricula, knowledge-building, and institutional arrangements that foster the achievement of diversity and social and economic justice. It will support the commitment of social work education to provide social workers with the intellectual and practical skills needed to address issues of social inequality and injustice. Primary Functions
The primary objective of the Advisory Board is to advice and support the continued success and activities of the Center by collaborating with and supporting CSWE staff and the Center for Diversity and Social & Economic Justice Scholar in content development, dissemination, and presentations. Advisory Board members will be asked to annually conduct webinars for CSWE members on topics related to Diversity and Social & Economic Justice.
Advisory Board Meetings
Members of the Advisory Board are expected to attend meetings to be held at least twice a year: 1) one in-person meeting during the CSWE Annual Program Meeting pending the availability of APM conference space and 2) a virtual meeting in the spring.Annual Program Meeting
Advisory Board members will be expected to participate in Center-related content for CSWE’s Annual Program Meeting, which may include pre-conference institute events or conference sessions highlighting Center initiatives.
Eligibility
Center for Diversity and Social & Economic Justice Advisory Board members must:
- be a full- or part-time social work faculty member at a CSWE-accredited or candidate social work program;
- possess an interest and focus in promoting individual, family, and community well-being and social and economic justice;
- willingness and availability to attend Advisory Board meetings;
- attend CSWE’s Annual Program Meeting;
- provide consultation regarding Centers needs, such as input on topics and presenters;
- be an active CSWE member (included for faculty and administrators of CSWE member programs).
Application
Applicants who are eligible and interested must complete the application through the CSWE online application portal. Within the application portal, applicants will:
- respond to a brief set of questions (including a statement of interest); and
- upload CV.

Appointment
CSWE will evaluate applications based on applicant qualifications and to ensure a diverse and well-rounded group of volunteers considering CSWE’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy Statement.Applicants will be notified of a decision via email. Center Advisory Board members are appointed to terms of 2-year terms of service, with the option to renew their appointment at the expiration of the term.
