The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) extends our hearts and prayers to our 'ohana, friends, and colleagues in Hawai'i, especially on the island of Maui, as they navigate the aftermath of the tragic wildfires. The CSWE community can support Maui relief efforts in several ways.
Right now, the best way to assist from outside the state is to donate to relief efforts through the Hawai'i Community Foundation Maui Strong Fund and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement Kāko'o Maui Fund. You can also support social work students residing on Maui by donating directly to the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health's Social Work Student Aid Fund (Fund #12015764). If you are in Hawai'i, consider these opportunities to assist.
The Hawai'i Psychological Association is coordinating mental health services. If you would like to support this effort and are a licensed mental health provider in the state of Hawai'i or a licensed mental health provider out of state and can provide telehealth services, please sign up here.
